I've been working with Circle gatherings for many years now as a wellness coach and healer. It's a natural extension of my passion to support others. As much as I am calling the Circle and acting as facilitator, I see myself as helping to hold the rim with everyone. The gifts, blessings, and wisdom of the Circle happen because of the people who attend and share their stories. It is community that is being called through the Circle. Care, compassion, respect, honoring, listening and being heard are parts of what we bring as community.
For women (not that I am excluding you guys and all that you do) our roles, and the hats that we wear are many.
We may find ourselves rolling out of bed at 2:00a.m because one of our kids is crying from a nightmare or has a 24 hour bug and has thrown up for the 2nd time in three hours. Follow that by getting up for the day at 5:30 (if we have even gone back to bed) to get the older kids ready and off to school. You will not be going to work today at your state social service agency because your daycare will not take a sick child, nor do you want your baby to be there when she is sick.
You go about the day fielding phone calls from teachers, plans for a baby shower for your sister-in-law, and worrying about an ominous phone message from your sister that your dad is acting kind of odd lately, forgetting things . . .
Does any of this sound familiar? You might be a single women who does not have a partner/husband/wife right now, yet you can still relate to what I have written above because even though the characters are different - non the less - the day to day stress is still present.
How are you taking care of yourself? Who supports you when seem to be so busy supporting everyone else? Are there caring and supportive women in your life? Are you reaching out so that they can support you, even as you have supported them? Do you laugh and play together? Do you cry and grieve together?
Do you go off on a women's day or night out, or a weekend retreat together?
That is the idea behind WyseWomen Circles. This is a community where we can come together as women and support each other in all of the ways that I have mentioned above. Young, old, and in-between. Each of us has wisdom to share and a story to tell, and in the telling and sharing, we find love, compassion, caring, and community.
The purpose of this community is to offer support to women and is specifically for women only.
There is no fee to attend these Circles though there will be a donation jar if you have the ability to contribute something. There is no requirement to do so for you to attend Circle.
I've been working in health care and wellness for over thirty years now and I am still always in learning mode with a beginners mind so that I can hold space as a healer and support others.
